2007 IBSA World Youth and Student Games

  • United States Association of Blind Athletes (USABA) to host International Blind Sports Association (IBSA) World Youth and Student Games, July 12 – 16, in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

  • Over 300 blind youth from 27 countries to compete in Goalball and Judo at Colorado College, Swimming at US Olympic Training Center, Track and Field at St. Mary’s Grace Center.

  • IBSA Games Opening Ceremony, July 12, 6:30 pm, Colorado College Washburn Field. Opening Ceremony parade to include blind youth and hundreds of Colorado Springs children. Enjoy a live concert by KISSIDUGU, a high-octane drum and dance troupe, with high-flying Guinea “dun dun” dancing” and explosive West African Percussion. Spectator tickets are $7 and can be purchased in advance on-line at http://www.showmyevent.com?jumptoevent=1071 or contact USABA at 719-630-0422 ext. 10.
In conjunction with the IBSA World Youth and Student Games, USABA and Divine Redeemer School are teaming up to provide ALL children, Camp Vision July 9 – 13 9:00 am – 4:00 pm For Ages 5 – 12 at Divine Redeemer School.
  • Learn about disabilities, culture, and sport from Olympians, Paralympians, and blind youth from 27 countries, understand how everyone is blessed with unique traits, gifts, and talents, participate in Opening Ceremony parade and see KISSIDUGU live!
