USABA Athlete John Morgan Inducted into USOC Hall of Fame

U.S. Olympic Committee and Allstate Announce the U.S. Olympic Hall of Fame Class of 2008
Chicago, Ill. – Karch Kiraly, three-time U.S. Olympian in volleyball (1984, 1988 and 1996) and three-time gold medalist, leads the distinguished Class of 2008 that will be inducted into the U.S. Olympic Hall of Fame Presented by Allstate. The induction ceremony will take place June 19 in Chicago. The U.S. Olympic Hall of Fame Class of 2008 is comprised of nine Olympians, one Paralympian, an Olympic Coach, Veteran, Team and Special Contributor.
Fifteen-time Paralympic medalist John Morgan, USABA athlete, first competed at the Paralympic Games in 1984 notching five medals. Eight years later, Morgan tallied eight gold medals and a pair of silver medals setting six world records and two Paralympic records at the Barcelona 1992 Paralympic Games. Morgan set 14 world records in his swimming career, including five in the B2 classification and nine in the B1 classification.
The United States Association of Blind Athletes, a member organization of the U.S. Olympic Committee, is a non-profit organization that provides training for blind and visually impaired athletes for competition in nine sports. USABA members range from blind children developing sports skills to elite athletes who train for competitions such as the Paralympic Games, which continually draws more than 4,000 disabled athletes.
