U.S. Goalball: A Legacy of Excellence

The U.S. goalball team made its Paralympic debut in 1976 at the Toronto Games—the first Paralympics to include blind athletes.

Since then, U.S. teams have earned 12 Paralympic medals and 11 World Championship medals, establishing the United States as one of the sport’s top programs.

Recent success has been fueled by a full-time resident training program in Fort Wayne, Indiana, where athletes train and live together to build elite skills and team cohesion.
