Success at IBSA Goalball Americas Championship

Both USA Goalball Men’s and Women’s Teams traveled to Sao Paulo, Brazil for the 2025 IBSA Goalball Americas Championship. There is no question that USA Goalball is one of the strongest competitors in the Americas region, and that presence was felt across rival teams that also attended the tournament. As a result, competition was high in all games played, and both programs faced only one defeat in their pool play stages. But the small margins between victory and defeat left a lasting impact, to which the 2nd Seed in pool play was given to both teams, meaning a more difficult route to the final. After a formidable Quarter Final against Puerto Rico, the USA Men’s Goalball Team bounced back to winning ways and showcased our attacking threat.  Semi-final losses against well-organized teams, Canada for the women, and Brazil for the men. The Women’s team played quality goalball in their 3rd Place match, securing the bronze medal against a resilient Argentina side, where the Men’s Team were able to get redemption in their match against Canada, to take home third place. After a hard fought battle the USA Goalball Men’s National Team has officially qualified for the 2026 IBSA America’s Championships in Hangzhou, China.
