U.S.A. Blind Soccer Men’s National Team Convenes in Colorado Springs for April Training Camp

Colorado Springs, Colo. – April 2026 — The U.S. Blind Soccer Men’s National Team has gathered in Colorado Springs this week for a high-performance training camp taking place April 7–11, as the team continues its preparation for upcoming international competition and long-term development toward the Los Angeles 2028 Paralympic Games.

Led by Head Coach Jorge Polanco, the camp brings together top athletes from across the country for an intensive week of training, evaluation, and team development. The selected athletes will focus on refining tactical execution, strengthening team chemistry, and building match readiness in a competitive training environment.

This camp serves as a key step in preparation for upcoming international competition, including an event scheduled to take place in Seattle in late May, with additional details to be announced in the coming weeks. It also plays an important role in the team’s long-term pathway toward success at LA28.

“The level of commitment and focus we are seeing from this group continues to raise the standard for our program,” said Polanco. “Each camp is an opportunity to build toward something bigger, and this week is an important part of that process.”

Coach Polanco has invited the following athletes to participate in the April training camp: Alvaro Mora (Phoenix, AZ), Charles E. Catherine (Brooklyn, NY), Ahmed J Shareef (Staten Island, NY), Ethan David Kunes (Joppatowne, MD), Ramon O. De Leon (Miami, FL), Ricardo Castañeda (Fort Worth, TX), John Marquez (Fort Worth, TX), Noah Beckman (Columbus, OH), Brandt Herron (Jacksonville, FL), and Mark Baker Jr (Charlotte, NC).

The U.S. Blind Soccer National Team continues to build momentum on the international stage while expanding opportunities for athletes with visual impairments to compete at the highest level.
