Event & Marketing Intern Job Description

Position Type: Part-time unpaid internship (15-20 hours per week) Location: USABA office at Sport House in Colorado Springs (with option for remote work)
Reports to: Communications Manager and Integrated Marketing Manager
Start Date: May 1, 2024
End Date: December 31, 2024


Major Duties & Responsibilities
• Assist in the coordination of USABA’s membership database to develop and implement specific targeted initiatives to maintain and increase membership and keep engaged in programming
• Provide membership with timely, informative and high-quality customer service
• Assist in the coordination of events, programs, camps, and tournaments
• Assist in the safety coordination for tournaments, membership, constituents and national teams
• Management of USABA online store, including inventory checks and shipping duties
• Administrative assistant to the goalball working group monthly meetings
• Assist in collecting content on nationwide sport programs for digital marketing storytelling
• Assist in creating social media posts/campaigns to increase organizational reach
• Research trends and develop new initiatives for social media, digital marketing and content
• Assist in the creation and distribution of organizational reporting and data analysis projects
• Assist with planning and execution of Goalball National Championships and National Blind Sports Month
• Some travel may be expected
• Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications
• Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s Degree program in sport management or have graduated from the program within the past 12 months
• Strong leadership skills and ability to solve problems and execute decisions under pressure
• Capable of working in a fast-paced and demanding environment
• Experience creating graphics in Canva
• Basic knowledge of social media
• Experience with Microsoft Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook)
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Interest in working with the Paralympic movement and the blind and visually impaired community
• Have computer skills and access to a computer to use for work
• Successful completion of a favorable background check and the U.S. SafeSport online training class
