Personal: Introduced to goalball in 2015 at a camp at Turnstone Center in Fort Wayne, Indiana…Has a condition called Stickler syndrome which breaks down all the connective tissue in your body… It started with torn and detached retinas and developed into other complications such as glaucoma…Parents are Terry and Beth Buhler…Has three siblings – Allie, Kameron and Kendall…Both his mother-in-law, Karen Helmacy, and father-in-law, Jerry Windell, played goalball and won Paralympic medals …Karen was a gold medalist in javelin and goalball in 1984, and Jerry won silver in goalball in 1988…Hobbies include playing the drums, working out, and watching football all day on Sundays.
