Posted July 28, 2015  Goalball | Press Releases

This week, athletes from around the world will compete on an international stage in Colorado Springs, Colorado, USA, for the title of World Champion. The 2015 IBSA World Youth Goalball Championship will feature some of the world’s top up and coming athletic talent, many of whom aspire to be Paralympians.

Delegations from Canada, China, Germany, Hungary, South Korea, Sweden and the United States began arriving Friday evening.

“This event is an incredible opportunity for our elite junior teams to compete on an international stage that will showcase some of the best youth goalball athletes in the world. It is another step towards many of these athletes’ goals to become Paralympic athletes,” said Mark Lucas, USABA Executive Director.

“Building an infrastructure that develops youth players is vital to the national team pipeline. This competition offers that opportunity for development to teams across the globe,” Lucas said.
