U.S. Men’s Goalball Head Coach, Michael Legé, Retires


After 8 years as Head Coach of the USA Men’s Goalball team, Coach Michael Legé has retired. Legé joined the U.S. Men’s Goalball Team coaching staff in 2005 as an assistant after the death of Head Coach John Bakos. As a retired physical education teacher at the Florida School for the Deaf and the Blind, he also served as the boy’s goalball team coach. Before becoming Head Coach in 2009, Legé served as Assistant Coach during the 2006 IBSA World Goalball Championships, where the team won bronze, and the Beijing 2008 Paralympic Games, where the team finished 4th. 2017 Northeast Regional Goalball Tournament Recap


Twenty teams competed in the 2017 Northeast Regional Goalball Tournament over the weekend. It was the third of four USABA-sanctioned regional tournaments leading up to USABA Goalball Nationals which will take place June 22-24 at the Goalball Center of Excellence in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Five teams entered the women’s division and fifteen men’s teams were divided between a men’s elite division and a men’s division for the tournament. 2017 Midwest Regional Goalball Tournament Recap


By: Jessica Kusku, Tournament Director Another great year of competition has come and gone at the Midwest Regional Goalball Tournament. The tournament, held in Warren, MI, continues to be one of the largest tournaments in the country. This year, six women's teams, eighteen men's teams and more than 100 athletes and coaches traveled to Warren to compete for gold in the Paralympic sport.
