U.S. Goalball Teams Named to Compete in Rio 2016 Paralympic Games


National Goalball Team Head Coaches Ken Armbruster and Mike Legé have named the Women’s and Men’s teams that will represent Team USA at the 2016 Paralympic Games in Rio de Janeiro September 7-18. Both teams will play in a round-robin tournament format beginning Thursday, September 8. Games continue into the weekend and the following week. U.S. Men’s Goalball Brings Home SILVER and BRONZE from Vancouver Grand Slam

U.S Men’s Goalball stood strong against the competition this weekend at the Vancouver Goalball Grand Slam. The tournament brought together 8 teams from 3 countries for 20 goalball games starting Friday, March 18. The U.S. men split into two teams (USA 1 and USA 2) to take on British Columbia, Finland, Quebec, Alberta and hosts, Vancouver. Team USA 1’s roster was comprised of Joe Hamilton, John Kusku, Tyler Merren, Daryl Walker and Coach Matthew Boyle. All-Star Games Add Spark to Midwest Regional Goalball Tournament


By: Jessica Kusku, Tournament Director Sixteen men's teams and nine women's teams traveled to Warren, Mich. to compete in the 32nd annual USABA Midwest Regional Goalball Tournament, Feb. 20-21. The tournament, hosted by the Michigan Blind Athletic Association, is one of the largest goalball tournaments in the country. The tournament kicked off Saturday morning with round robin play. Teams were split into four men's pools and two women's pools. Only the top eight men’s teams would make it to the quarter-finals. Teams Shine at 6th Annual Cascade Classic


By: Jen Armbruster, Tournament Director The 2016 Cascade Classic Goalball tournament finished on Valentine’s day with some sweet medal matches.  The ladies from Portland State faced off against N.J. for BRONZE.  Both teams had national players representing their clubs.  Portland State University jumped out to an early lead and never looked back securing the 3rd place finish.  The Utah guys faced another local team of the Northwest Association of Blind Athletes (NWABA) Avalanche which was a close contest but the Men from Utah proved to be too much of a match for the local team. Coca-Cola Provides Professional Opportunity for Paralympic Athletes


By: Amanda Weldon The Coca-Cola Company is making great strides in supporting Team USA’s Olympic and Paralympic athletes. Paralympian and Women’s National Goalball Team member, Amanda Dennis (Peachtree, Ga.) fulfilled an internship with Coca-Cola this year. Dennis graduated from the University of Georgia last May with a degree in Sports Management.
