By: Amanda Weldon On Sunday, USA’s Women’s Goalball Team took SILVER in a close draw against Russia, ending in a shootout. The score was 2-2 in regular time, Russia barely overcoming USA with a final score of 6-4 in overtime. Mentors provide advice, encouragement and support. They help us through hard times and celebrate our victories with us. They listen and empathize, teach and counsel. For Paralympians Amanda Dennis (Peachtree, Ga.) and Tucker Dupree (Raleigh, N.C.), mentors also provide a positive outlook and encouragement when training seems overwhelming and when life gets tough. GOLD and SILVER for U.S. Men at Nova Scotia Open

U.S. Men’s Goalball teams finished on top of the podium at the Nova Scotia Open hosted by Blind Sports Nova Scotia at Citadel High School November 20-22. Top teams from across North America were invited to participate. Alberta, Ontario, and Quebec sent teams to compete. U.S. Men’s Goalball sent two teams of six elite male goalball players to the tournament in Halifax. Florida Cobras and Lakeshore Foundation Capture 2015 USABA National High School Goalball Championships By: James Crozier, Special Contributor Sixteen teams were on hand for the 2015 USABA National High School Goalball Championships, hosted by the Florida School for the Deaf and the Blind (FSDB) in St. Augustine, Florida for the 22nd year.
