Manticores and Honeybees Win Northeast Regional Goalball Titles


After a three-year hiatus due to the pandemic, the USABA Northeast Regional Goalball Tournament returned to Westmont, New Jersey, April 14-16. Now known as the Gunderman Goalball Classic in honor of the Association of Blind Athletes of New Jersey's longtime president Sharon Gunderman who passed away last April, the event drew over 90 athletes across 23 teams. USA Goalball’s Tyler Merren Named Team USA Community Champion


The United States Olympic & Paralympic Foundation is proud to announce four athletes as the 2022 award recipients for Team USA Community Champions in partnership with Comcast. Previously known as the Team USA Service and Hope Award, this is the second year that the USOPF has given athletes this honor. Mary Cain (Atalanta NYC), Kelsey Dickinson (Women Ski Coaches Association), Tyler Merren (U.S. Association of Blind Athletes), and Billy Mills (Running Strong for American Indian Youth), were selected based on their commitment to serving and bettering their communities through nonprofit work. Champions Crowned at Northwest Regional Goalball


The second regional goalball event of the year took place February 3-5 as the Washington State School for the Blind played host to the USABA Northwest Regional Goalball Tournament in Vancouver, Washington. Seven men's teams and four women's teams took part in the three-day event that was live-streamed on the USABA Facebook page. In the men's division, the Texas Rattlesnakes went 4-0 on the weekend, including a 13-4 triumph over the NWABA Avalanche in the final. Southwest Regional Goalball Tournament Kicks Off 2023 Season


Twelve teams converged on Phoenix, Arizona, Jan. 20-22, for the USABA Southwest Regional Goalball Tournament hosted by Ability 360 Sports & Fitness Center. The competition was divided evenly with six men’s teams and six women’s teams taking to the court for the three-day event. In the women’s division, the Maryland Minks went undefeated for the weekend, capping off their solid play with a convincing 10-1 victory over Code Blue in the gold medal match. First Paris 2024 Qualification Opportunity for Experienced U.S. Teams at Upcoming IBSA Goalball World Championships

With a combined 22 Paralympic Games appearances and 15 Paralympic medals to their credit, an experienced roster of 12 athletes has been selected to represent the U.S. at the 2022 IBSA Goalball World Championships in Matosinhos, Portugal, Dec. 7-16.
